A Hobbit’s Knife… next iteration.

Here is my latest ‘hobbit knife’. This time it is a bit truer to the intended idea perhaps because of it’s smaller size and very … ‘botanical’ handle.  The blade was forged from 1075 tool steel and differentially heat treated to show a hamon or ‘temper line’. The shape is that of an Anglo-Saxon broken-back seax.. a culture and time period that inspired Tolkien’s Middle Earth.  The handle is deer bone and some ancient juniper I salvaged from the desert in Colorado.  The blade is 3.5″ long and the overall length is 7.5″… a perfect size for a hobbit’s belt knife. Or a fine, compact size for human hands.  As usual for my hobbit knives the sheath will come with a carved spoon ‘toggle’ for carry.

Price is $295 including sheath and carved spoon.
